With the grant funds, the Teutopolis Civic Club members are eagerly anticipating the return of the much-loved Candy Day event at the 4-way stop. The community is rallying to secure candy and insurance for the two-day fundraiser, with all proceeds dedicated to impactful causes. Primarily, the funds will support a merit award program, benefiting two graduating seniors, and contribute to the creation of holiday baskets for elderly residents who face challenges during colder weather.

Approximately 50 festive baskets, delivered around Christmas, bring joy and provide a meaningful visit for those unable to venture out easily. Any surplus funds from this successful candy day will be directed towards supporting the dedicated volunteers of the St. Francis Religious Education program. These volunteers, integral to the community's deep roots in the Catholic faith, receive gift certificates to Kountry Kitchen as tokens of gratitude for their tireless efforts in promoting faith-based youth.

The Teutopolis State Bank Designated Fund is a fund of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation. It provides grants for projects that benefit the Teutopolis, Illinois Community in the following areas: civic, cultural health, health, education, and social services.
